
Another catalytic converter was stolen off a vehicle parked at a hotel on Sunday night. Orange police went to the Best Western Inn on Highway 62 South at 7:20 a.m. Monday after getting a call about the missing item.
On Monday night, a patrol officer arrested a man in connection with possession of five ounces of marijuana and a handgun.
Officer Jinks reported he stoped a 2019 Chevrolet Camaro at the corner of 20th Street and Sunset Drive Monday at 9:40 p.m. He said the car did not stop at the designated stopping place at the stop sign; so he conducted a traffic stop.
He said he found five ounces of marijuana, a state jail felony amount, along with a handgun. Possession of a unlawful handgun is a Class A misdemeanor. According to the report, the driver was the only person in the car.
21-year-old Mark Paul Thibodeaux was arrested and is facing the state jail felony and the misdemeanor.
