The Orange Police Department is investigating a burglary from Wednesday afternoon. Officer Casey was dispatched to 2708 Eddleman Road in reference to an apparent break in of a residence.
Casey spoke with a female who was at the residence on Eddleman. The female was part of a landscape crew. She reported that she saw the front door of the residence open and apparently kicked in.
The owner of the residence was out-of-town at the time. Captain Robert Enmon with the Detective Division of the Orange Police Department said the police will be meeting with the owner to determine what items might be missing from the residence.
Also, under investigation is the burglary of a vehicle and the theft of a firearm. Officer Jonathan Baggett was dispatched on Wednesday at 8:06 AM.
Baggett contacted Gustavo Bouza Velazquez who resides in an apartment at 2801 Sunset Drive. Bouza Velazquez told Baggett that his vehicle, a 2013 Honda Pilot, was locked and parked in a designated spot at the apartments on Monday night.
The next morning, he discovered an unknown person had rummaged through his vehicle.
Bouza Velazquez reported $300 in U.S. currency was missing from the console of the vehicle. He also confirmed that his Beretta, Model 92FS, 9mm pistol was missing. The pistol was silver metal with brown wood grain grips.
