On July 31, 2025, around 10:35 P.M., the Vidor 9-1-1 Communications Center received a call reporting that someone had been shot at a residence in the 1900 block of Hickory Street. Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene.
According to interim Chief Rodney Johnson, officers were met outside the residence by an adult white male. The individual was detained without incident.
Officers then entered the home and located an adult white female who was deceased. The male was transported to the police department, where he was interviewed by detectives. Following the interview, he was placed under arrest in connection with the incident. At this time, the identity of the deceased female is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
