A 23-year-old man who was shot three times with a handgun Thursday night at the Park Avenue Manor apartments is expected to survive. Orange Detective Captain Robert Enmon said the man underwent surgery Friday at a Beaumont hospital and his injuries appear not to be life-threatening.
Police said DeMarcus Rogers was shot about 9 p.m. Thursday inside an apartment at the complex at 2540 West Park Avenue.
Captain Enmon said Friday police are looking for a “person of interest” in connection with the shooting. The suspect was not at the apartment when police arrived. He said the shooting happened during an argument.
On April 12, 2018 at 9:08 PM, Orange Police Department received a 911 call in reference to a shooting in the 2500 block of W. Park Ave. Officers arrived and located a black male with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was identified as 23 year old DeMarcus Rogers. Rogers was transported to St. Elizabeth hospital. Condition of Rogers is unknown at the time of this press release. No arrest has been made. The investigation is ongoing by the detective division.
