Jeremy Michael Martinez, 37, of Nederland, was killed about 5am Wednesday morning in a one-car crash on Interstate 10 westbound in Vidor.
A 42-year-old Beaumont woman who was a passenger in the car, Carla Culver, was seriously injured.
Sergeant Stephanie Davis with the Texas Department of Transportation said a Pontiac passenger car was in the westbound outside lane in the area past Main Street. The driver for an unknown reason hit a guardrail. The car then went airborne and then hit another guardrail.
Justice of the Peace Joy Simonton pronounced Martinez dead at the scene. Culver was taken by ambulance to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
