Orangefield’s Ryden Stanfield and Grant Metts will continue their athletic careers after graduation in May.
Stanfield will play softball for Lamar State College-Port Arthur. A standout shortstop and leadoff hitter for the Lady Bobcats, Stanfield is excited to play for the Seahawks. Coach Bek Ragsdale said, “Ryden has been a huge part of the success we’ve had here. I know she’ll bring the same work ethic to LSCPA.”
Metts will play football at McMurry University in Abilene. Coach Josh Smalley said, “Grant made 4A all-district on both sides of the ball which is rare so McMurry is getting a good one. He’s a great young man and he will represent them well like he did for us.”
