Thursday afternoon the Orange Fire Department was called to a marsh fire in the Cove Area.
The fire spread quickly because of a brisk south wind and got within feet of the Moore/Odom Duck Preserve Building off DuPont Drive.
Chief John Bilbo said they weren’t sure of the cause. Firefighters had to make a second trip to the location after the fire rekindled.
