No matter the score it’s always a physical game when Orangefield and Bridge City meet. The two met in the district opener Friday night in Orangefield.
It was cold outside but the Bobcats were hot inside, outscoring BC 40-18 in the first half. They would improve to 1-0 in district with a 63-35 win over the Lady Cards (0-1).
For OF, Paris Fregia hit three 3’s on her way to 13 points. Emmi Lummus got into foul trouble in the first half but still scored 23, including an impressive 11-13 from the free throw line.
For the Cards, both Reyna Owens and Kassidy Wilbur scored seven.
BC will next face Silsbee on Tuesday and OF will host Hamshire-Fannett.

The LCM Lady Bears defeated the Hamshire-Fannett Lady Longhorns 52-49. Alyssa McKellar led with 16 points and pulled down 19 rebounds. Jacie Miller added 14 points and had 6 rebounds and Chelsea Perry scored 13 points.

The Deweyville Pirates defeated Hamshire-Fannett 45-36 with Caleb Winkle leading the Pirates with 16 points.

PNG beat Vidor 41-40. Lady Pirates beat PNG 35-33.
