
Octavio Laguna, 84, of Kirbyville died Friday, July 11, 2025 at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, July 13, at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial at Kirbyville Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am prior to service.
Otavio was born October 11, 1940 in San Antiono, Texas to Francisco and Incarnation Laguna, and was a longtime resident of Kirbyville. He was retired from Mobil Chemical with 36 years of service and was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran having received the Purple Heart Award. Is his retirement, he served the Kirbyville Outreach Center for 20 years, was Chief Commander of Purple Heart; worked closely with the Wounded Warrior Project; American Legion; And Veterans of Foreign Wars. He also enjoyed traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Laguna of Kirbyville; daughters, Tania Webb and husband Tim of Mauriceville and Leslie Laguna-Rodgers of Mauriceville; step-daughter, Desiree Holley of Rayburn Country and step-son, Dr. Everett Holley and wife Lauren of Tyler; grandchildren, Courtney Webb, Jacob Webb, Dax Rodgers, and Lanie Rodgers; step-grandchildren, Derek Causey, William Holley and wife Meiru Shua, Chris Holley, Ava Holley and Aiden Holley; step-great grandchildren, Isabella Holley and Reina Holley
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Donecia Laguna and Antonio Laguna; sister, Ernestina Alfaro; and step-sons, Bill Holley and Kenneth Hol
