The Texas Education Agency released its accountability “grades” for schools in the state for the first time since 2019 because of Covid.
All of the districts in Orange County received a “B.” That was the same grade that Bridge City, Little Cypress-Mauriceville, and Orangefield received in 2019. West Orange-Cove and Vidor received “C’s” in 2019 so it was an improvement for them.
Districts also get an overall rating. There are a total of 1,207 school districts in Texas, and 1,195 were evaluated. Out of the districts evaluated, 33.1% got an A, 54% got a B, 9.4% got a C and 3.5% got a “Not Rated” label.
Only three districts in the area received A’s and they were Nederland, High Island, and Evadale.
