
Sales tax returns in Orange County from October are showing a slight drop from October in 2017 as Hurricane Harvey repairs begin to slow down. However, entities are still seeing increases for the first 10 months of 2018 compared to the same time period last year.
The Texas Comptroller’s Office has sent October payments to cities, the county, and the Orange County Emergency Services District No. 3, which is the Little Cypress Fire and Rescue. The payments are:
Bridge City (1.5 percent sales tax): $137,844 for the month and $139,566 for October 2017, a decrease of 1.23 percent. $1.82 million for the year to date and $1.48 million for the 2017 year to date, a 22.92 percent increase.
Orange (1.5 percent sales tax): $401,571 for the month and $444,475 for October 2017, a decrease of 9.65 percent. $5.4 million for the year to date and $4.6 million for the 2017 year to date, a 16.95 percent increase.
Pinehurst (1.5 percent sales tax): $59,483 for the month and $49,104 for October 2017, a 21.13 percent increase. $704,103 for the year to date and $599,588 for the 2017 year to date, a 17.43 percent increase.
Vidor (1.5 percent sales tax): $234,985 for the month and $234,522 for October 2017, an increase of 0.19 percent. $3.03 million for the year to date and $2.64 million for the 2017 year to date, a 14.66 percent increase.
West Orange (1.25 percent sales tax): $92,469 for the month and $101,482 for October 2017, a decrease of 8.88 percent. $1.22 million for the year to date and $1.15 millino for the 2017 year to date, a 6.72 percent increase.
Orange County (0.5 percent sales tax): $439,315 for the month and $439,701 for October 2017. $5.31 million for the year to date and $4.57 million for the 2017 year to date, a 16.27 percent increase.
Emergency Services District 3 (1.5 percent sales tax): $13,789 for the month and $15,296 for October 2017, a decrease of 9.85 percent. $189,615 for the year to date and $176,366 for the 2017 year to date, a 7.51 percent increase.
