
Cities in Orange County have received their February sales tax collections from the Texas Comptroller’s Office. The taxes cover purchases from December.
The city of Orange has a large increase, while Pinehurst has a decrease. Sometimes in the past, big differences in the two cities have been because the comptroller’s office has credited Pinehurst sales to Orange. Both cities, along with West Orange, have the same zip code.
Bridge City (1.5 percent tax): $218,827 for the month, an 8.96 percent increase from the same month last year. $379,600 for the year to date, an 11.39 percent increase from last year.
Orange (1.5 percent tax): $701,337 for the month, a 28.61 percent increase from the same month last year. $1.195 million for the year to date, a 25.59 percent increase from last year.
Pinehurst (1.5 percent tax): $69,739 for the month, a decrease of 16.67 percent from the same month last year. $119,615 for the year to date, a decrease of 14.57 percent from last year.
Vidor (1.5 percent tax): $361,803 for the month, a decrease of 1.63 percent from the same month last year. $619,270 for the year to date, a decrease of 1.65 percent from last year.
West Orange (1.25 percent tax): $138,940 for the month, a 5.8 percent increase from the same month last year. $246,522 for the year to date, a 7.45 percent increase.
