
The following businesses were inspected by Orange County Health in the months of May and June.
Inspections are not only done in restaurants but any establishment where food is sold or served.
Inspector James Scales gave scores of 100 to the Wal-Mart Fuel Station in Vidor and Luna Nashoba, a mobile food truck.
Others receiving near perfect scores were LBS BBQ with a 99 and LCM Nutrition scored 97.
Small infractions went to the Texas Country Store in Mauriceville and Southern Baking in Vidor. Both received a 96. Scores of 95 went to Fixxology in Vidor and Stars-Petro on MLK in Orange.
Robert’s Meat Market earned a 92. Foods repackaged weren’t labeled correctly and soap need at washing station. Floors and shelves in cooler need cleaning of old food.
Tacos Bendicion in Orange received a 92. Food and greased needs to be cleaned off of vent a hood. No sanitizer or paper towels found at washing station.
Church’s Chicken in BC received a 91. All food in coolers were not covered. Floors around fryers need cleaning and gnats were found around sink.
Orange City Donut on MLK received a 91. Kolaches were found out of proper temperature, drinks were stored directly on the floor, bags of flour were left open, pan liners used multiple times and a baby crib was found in the kitchen.
Star Stop #2 in Vidor got a 91 with some mold in the ice machine and no hot water at washing station. Dates needed on prepared food, drinks stored directly on floor and current report not posted.
Zapco #3 (LCM Mart) on Hwy. 87 N. got an 89 with raw bacon and beef stored above produce. Dates needed on sandwiches. No soap at washing stations. Drinks stored on the floor. Damaged ceiling tiles. Shelves and storage containers being stored outside behind building.
The new Porky’s Convenience Store on 87 S. at the corner of 105 received an 84. They were written up for raw eggs and mayo on shelf at improper temps, no dates on sandwiches, no paper towels at washing station, food stored directly on floor, and certain areas needed extra cleaning. Also the current inspection report wasn’t posted.
