
Orange County Code Health and Compliance Director James Scales did not find a lot of violations during Restaurant and Food Inspections in the month of March.
Inspections are not only done in restaurants but any establishment where food is sold or served.
Nine businesses received a 100. They include Bright Beginnings Learning, Lollipop Stop, Building Blocks Academy, BC High School, Kidz World, Precious Daycare, Oranagefield HS, the OC Jail and Orange Community Action.
Pine Forest Donuts received a score of 91. Food was found out of proper temperature and soap and paper towels were not found at the handwashing station.
Neches Grocery in Vidor got an 88. A molded sandwich was found in the cooler. Store name and address required on bags of ice.
Bar-B-Que Depot in Vidor received a 95. Cut onions out of proper temp. Flies found throughout. Lots of grease found under grill area.
The Falls in Vidor got a 93. Found hose connected to septic system draining onto the ground. Dead mouse found on sticky trap in storage room which needs cleaning.
Snow Flake Donuts in Orange received an 84. Food was found out of proper temperatures. Cheese slices stored incorrectly. Drinks and supplies directly on floor. Floors and equipment need to be cleaned of old food.
Star Stop on 16th got a 93. Mold found in ice machine. Cappuccino machine needs cleaning. Drinks cannot be stored directly on floor.
Flying J got a 95 after molded pastries were found on the sales rack. Also lots of old grease on vent a hood. Floors in cooler and kitchen area need heavy cleaning.
Several businesses scored between 96-99 with minor violations. They included Family Dollar on 16th, Pizza Hut on Edgar Brown, Sundara Coffee House, and Wright’s BBQ.
Several new businesses were pre-inspected for their opening. They include Bella’s Bistro, Sherry’s Live Crawfish, Coach’s Cones, Waffle House on 62, Popsicle Posse, Porky’s #7, Orange City Donut, and God’s Sweets & Treats.
