Three school districts in Orange County are getting more than $2 million from the private Rebuild Texas fund started after Hurricane Harvey.
The group’s website says the Vidor ISD is getting $1 million to help pay for its share of the 10 percent match of FEMA reimburstments.
The Little Cypress-Mauriceville CISD is getting $500,559 to help cover its 10 percent FEMA match.
The West Orange-Cove CISD is getting $578,565 for critical roof repairs to schools.
Rebuild Texas has distributed more than $91 million to the counties affected by Harvey in 2017. The money has come from corporate, business, and individual donations.
The Rebuild Texas website said the money will be distributed by the end of this month. The deadline for filing for grants was in June.
Orange County earlier this year got $87,364 to buy a rescue boat and trailer.
