Great day for Orange County baseball and softball as all of our local teams put a W in the playoff win column.
Bridge City got it started with a 4-3 win in a one game series against Hudson. Starting pitcher Max Pachar got the complete game win.
After giving up a homerun in the first inning and two singles, the Cardinal offense helped him settle in with three runs in the bottom of the first. Austyn Frederick hit a 2 run triple and then he came home on a ground ball by Ashton Sumrall.
The Hornets would add another run in the second and third to tie the game at three. Sumrall would change that in the bottom of the fourth with a homerun over the centerfield fence (and celebrated above). Pachar would sit the next nine in a row and the Cards are moving on to the next round.
Coach Chad Landry talks about the game.
The Orangefield Bobcats began a best of three series in Jasper with Diboll in a battle of 3A Top 20 teams. The Bobcats would take Gm. 1 by a score of 3-0 thanks to the bat and arm of sophomore pitcher Carson Gonzales.
Gonzales (celebrating a called third strike above) threw a one-hit shutout, striking out 11 and walking four. He also plated one of the three runs on a fielders choice. Rylan Agerton was responsible for bringing in the other two runs and he saved a run on a great running catch on the right field line. Layne Reynolds was 2-2 with two doubles.
Gm. 2 of the series is Friday in Jasper.
Coach Jake Nash talks about the win.

LCM saw their game one with Center moved to Panola JC because of rain the night before. The Bears would improve to 24-5 with a 3-1 victory.
The Bears scored first with two in the fourth. After singles by Jakson Struwe (who went 3-4 on his birthday) and Marco Bandiero, Dreyden Cook hit into a FC to score a run. Then Jacob Scheiderer singled to score Cook.
After Center scored in the sixth, LCM would add an insurance run in the seventh when Parker Seago doubled to score Clay Raney.
Richards would strike out four of the last six he faced, and finished with nine K’s. LCM will try to wrap up the series Friday at home. First pitch is scheduled for 7pm.

Vidor beat Bullard 2-1, scoring a run in both the first and second inning. Alex Bryant would go the distance, giving up just one run on two hits. Blake Safer and Noah Rains provided the run scoring hits.
The Pirates improve to 15-11 and will play Gm. 2 on Saturday at 4pm in Bullard. The Panthers fall to 23-7.
