Norma “Gaye” Campbell, age 84 of Orange, Texas, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2022 at her home. A mass to celebrate Gaye’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 24, 2022 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Joseph P. Daleo officiating. Family and friends will gather for a visitation from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Dorman Funeral Home.
Gaye was born in Orange, Texas on April 14, 1938 to parents, Mayme Ruth Williams Simar and James Roy Simar. She was a life-long resident of Orange and graduated from St. Mary’s High School. Gaye married her High School sweetheart, Glenn on February 4, 1959 and the two shared 63 blessed years together. The couple had a daughter, Sharon, a granddaughter Kristi and three beautiful great granddaughters, which they were there for every step of the way while they grew up. Gaye and her daughter shared a love for tropical fish and owned Campbell’s Tropical Fish here in Orange. She loved her contrary cat “Louie”, her guardian dog Bella and raising beautiful cockatiels. Gaye took great pride in growing gorgeous flowers in her flowerbeds around her home. She was a wonderful cook. But, the thing she loved the most was her family and having her house full of laughter from the ones she loved. She will be greatly missed by all those that knew her kind and loving spirit.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Mayme Simar.
Those left to cherish her memory are husband, Glenn Campbell of Orange, TX, daughter Sharon Campbell Urey of Orange, TX, granddaughter Kristi Urey Brown & husband Wade Morgan of Orange, TX, three great grandchildren; Heather Brown, Helen “Bridgett” Brown and Aubrea Morgan all of Orange, TX, Two brothers; Ronnie Simar and his wife Janice of Scott, LA and John Simar of Orange, TX, honorary family; Darrell & Kim Urey, Brandy Psencik and family, Ricky and Bettie Roy, Kerry and Kendal Wilkerson and Stacy James, and many extended family members and friends.
Those honoring Gaye as pallbearers will be Darrell Urey, Wade Morgan, Brandon Brown, Kendal Wilkerson, Bart Psencik, Ricky Sonier, Bobby Orta, Jr. and Ray Carroll.
