Newton Co. Sheriffs Report
by Sheriff Billy Rowles
First part of the week was ok. The last part not so good. Let’s see what it was all about.
Sunday, we got a call reference to a self-inflicted gunshot victim. The man was deceased when we arrived. At the same time, we received a call of a man threatening to shoot himself. After officers negotiated with him for a couple of hours it ended good. Nobody hurt. As this report is being done, he is getting help. Great job to everyone involved.
We received a call where an actor was thrown from a horse while they were filming a movie. Reported head injury. I don’t have any more information.
We received a report where a camper and a pickup were stolen in the lake area. Deputy White is looking into it.
We received a 911 call where a woman was driving all over the road. She also was waving a hand gun at the person who called in. Drunk women with a gun. Not good. We never located her.
We are serving a search warrant this morning. Hope to find stolen property. More to come.
Gotta Go. Thought for the week: No man has a good enough memory to be a successful liar. Ya’ll have a good week and if we can help just holler. God Bless.
