Hopefully everyone had a great week! As we approach the holiday season, I would like to remind everyone to be mindful of your surroundings when you’re out shopping and keep your valuables locked up. Traditionally, during holiday season, we receive a higher amount of theft calls.
Veteran’s Day is tomorrow, if you see a veteran around, be sure to thank them for their service. We would like to honor our staff that have served in the United States Military; Deputy Lewis “Sonny” White: United States Army National Guard 1980-1992, Deputy Jacob Walters: United States Marine Corps 2008-2012, Dispatcher Rebekah Robinson: United States Army 2006-2012. We will not forget the sacrifices made by these brave men and women to defend our great nation.
Last week, we answered 54 calls for service and booked 5 individuals into the Newton County Jail. We currently have 24 inmates housed in the following facilities: 10 in Jasper, 7 in Beauregard Parish and 7 in the Newton County Jail.
