Calls To Services (June 12, 2023, to June 18, 2023): The Newton County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) answered 76 calls to service.
Jail Population: We currently have 22 inmates in the following Jails, 14 housed in Newton, 8 housed in Jasper.
COMMUNITY WATCH MEETING: Our next meeting is on July 20, 2023, at 7p.m at Hughes Outreach Center at 10602 Hwy 190 East in Bon Wier.
On June 15th, 2023, we held our second meeting for residents that live in Bon Wier, Sandjack, Biloxi, Belgrade, Buckhorn, and Fawil. We discussed the top three issues identified in our first meeting and assigned Districts and selected District Captains. Public is welcome.
Bon Wier residents hosted the second meeting of the Bon Wier Neighborhood Watch where Newton County Sheriff Robert Burby shared some important tips regarding safety.
