Hope everyone had a great week. We were very busy around here. Let’s see what’s been going on.
You can’t believe how many calls we received about broken pipes. Several days of freezing weather took it’s toll on water pipes. We do not need anymore freezing weather here in Newton county.
It seems like we received calls from all over the county about loose livestock. Everything from cows, horses, donkey’s and even an emu. The cold had everything acting a fool. Thanks goes out to our stock officers, Willie Barrow and Landon Kelley. We owe ya’ll. Thanks for what ya’ll do for the county.
We had a front end loader stolen from the sand pit in Deweyville. Seems an ex-employee needed it more than the owner did. It didn’t go too far before it got stuck and was recovered. The ex-employee was caught on camera. Warrants are being issued. Good job Deputy Bowden.
Deputy Carter has been working hard on the theft of a lowboy, side by side Honda Pioneer and a 4 wheeler. The lowboy was recovered in Hardin county north of Silsbee. Anyone run into a good deal on something like that, give us a call.
South end deputies made a couple drug arrest. Nothing real big but every bit helps.
Good job guys.
Gotta Go. Thought for the week: I was going to surprise my wife by frying backstrap but the fire truck ruined it. Ya’ll have a great week and if we can help, just holler.
God Bless
