Calls To Services (March 14^th to March 20^th, 2022:  The Newton County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) answered 62 calls.

Jail Population:   We currently have 16   inmates in the following Jails, 7 housed in Newton, 9 housed in Jasper.  

Jail Bookings:  Last week there were 2 individuals booked into the NCSO Jail.

Jail Transports:  3/17/2022, One Inmate to the Johnson Unit, Winnsboro, Texas.

The following individuals were booked and arraigned:

Deweyville: Disturbance (X2), Alarm, Suspicious Activity (Vehicle/People), Disturbance involving dogs, Follow-up/Case Inquiry, Trespassing, Suspicious Activity on CR 4146, Assist Other Agency (Lake Charles, La.), False Alarm, Traffic Control on Hwy 12 West during School Releases, 4-Wheeler Call, Accident (Hwy 87@CR 4123)/Arrest, Suspicious Individual (CR 4170)

Indian Lake:  Disturbance

Devils Pocket:  Reckless Driving

Wiergate:  Harassment, Welfare Concern

Sunset Acres:  UUMV

Harrells:  Trespassing, Vehicle Shooting a Gun on FM 2460

Toledo Bend:  Information regarding a case, 4-Wheeler Call (Woodcrest)

Orange:  Noise Complaint (Loud Music), Suspicious Activity

Old Champion:  Extra Patrol Assigned (Vehicle Traffic), Vehicle Ran into a Ditch (CR 3171)

Gist: Extra Patrol Assigned (Vehicle Traffic)

Newton (Unincorporated Limits):   Disturbance, Civil Matter, Noise Complaint (Loud Music), Someone shooting a Gun Hwy 87 near Calvin’s Automotive

Call:  Extra Patrol Assigned, Public Nuisance (Log Trucks on FM 1004 tearing up yards), Disturbance, Civil Matter

Sunset:  Theft

Liberty:  Civil Standby

Kirbyville:  Civil Matter

Bon Wier:  False Alarm, Disturbance

Mayflower:  Traffic Hazard

Trout Creek:   ATVs driving on Hwy 87 near CR 4102

Buckhorn:     Animal Nuisance (Stray Dogs), Disturbance

Fawil:  Suspicious Activity

Burkeville:     Disturbance, Assist Other Agency, Burglary, Traffic Hazard, Burglary of a Habitation
