Installation has started on a 125-foot tall communication tower in the Orange Police Department’s parking lot. The tower is part of a regional emergency services communication system through the Southeast Texas Regional Planning Commission. The system can serve as a backup to the 911 phone system. A microwave dish on the OPD tower will be pointed toward the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and another dish pointed toward the Pinehurst Police Department.
