Nannie Willis, age 88, of Orange, Texas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, surrounded by loving family. Services honoring Nan will be held at 11:00 AM, on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Dorman Funeral Home; Pastor Keith Royal officiating. Nan will be laid to rest immediately following, at Ida Wilson Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to service. Arrangements were made under the care of Dorman Funeral Home.
Nannie Lou was born on Saturday, December 21, 1935 in Orange, Texas, to proud parents Herbert Sr. and Jessie Killian, she was the oldest of nine siblings. Nan graduated from LCM high school and went straight into financing. She retired as a President of Mauriceville Bank. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Bridge City, Texas. Nan loved to dance and was very good at it. She could cut a rug with the best of them. She liked to bowl and was in a bowling league at Brown’s Bowling Alley for over ten years. She could also out fish anyone in the boat. Her friends always knew that her door was open for a meal, a laugh and a prayer. Her favorite hobby was getting hugs and kisses from all her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her.
Nan is Preceded in death by her parents, Herbert Sr. and Jessie Killian; brothers, Herbert “Bubba” Killian Jr., Claude Killian Sr., Ned Killian, Mickey Killian and great grandson Kollsen Carter.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Kathy and Lenny Prejean and Sandy Lou Willis of Mauriceville, Texas; sons, David and Trudy Gamblin of Highlands, Texas, Mike and Polly Gamblin of Franklin, North Carolina; grandchildren, J.T. and wife Elise Prejean, Shane and wife Rikki Prejean, Preston and wife Natasha Gamblin, Matthew Gamblin, Jason and wife Elizabeth Jones, Seth and wife Kayley Gamblin, Jena and husband Chance Istre, Damon and wife Callie Burton; Twenty six great grandchildren; One great great great grandchild; sisters, Debbie Walmsley and husband Bob, Becky Vanicor, Judy Portie and one brother, Paul Killian.
Honoring Nannie Lou as pallbearers are J.T. Prejean, Shane Prejean, Seth Gamblin, Damon Burton, Preston Gamblin, Matthew Gamblin and Jason Jones.
