Ruby Doris Elmore Hudson was born March 31, 1939 in Alexandria, LA to Celia Jones Elmore and Will Elmore. She entered her eternal home on January 6, 2020 in Orange, TX.
She was raised and educated in the Alexandria area and accepted Christ at an early age.
Moving to Orange, TX, she and her kids joined the Mount Zion Baptist Church. She was employed by Zack’s Whopaburger.
In 1972 they moved to Beaumont, TX. She attended the Ebenezer Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. H. H. High.
In Beaumont she was employed by St. Elizabeth Hospital as an LVN. She was also employed by Schlesinger Geriatric Center.
She loved her family and kids dearly. She was tough and didn’t take anything from anyone. That’s where her daughter Frankie got her craziness from. Both were characters, strong fighters, outspoken, and outgoing.
She worked hard until she couldn’t take it anymore.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Joel Hudson, brothers, Henry Elmore and Sammy Thompson, sisters, Irma Lee Moody, Annie Mae Woodruff, Ester Lee Hall, Josie Mae Wilson and Nettie Elmore Brown, her daughter, Frankie Hudson DeClouet, granddaughter, Shondrica Rochelle Hudson, and great granddaughters Harmoni and Tyeunna Hudson.
Forever cherishing her memory are her 2 daughters, Elzennie Hudson Antoine (Marvin) and Vernita Hudson (Larry), both of Orange, 3 sons, Joel Hudson, Jr. of Beaumont, TX, Darren Bridges Hudson of San Antonio, TX and Gregory Hudson of Houston, TX, 3 sisters, Gussie V. Simmons (Freddie) of Shreveport, LA, Mamie Randolph and Willie Mae Brown (Ira), both of Orange, 19 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
