Four more vehicle burglaries were reported in Orange Wednesday morning, all in the Northway Park area. On January 12, several vehicle burglaries happened in the same area.
Orange Detective Captain Robert Enmon said all vehicles had been left unlocked. “We can’t emphasize enough for people to lock their cars,” he said.
In addition, he said investigators think a gang of thieves from Houston did the smash and grab burglaries on vehicles parked at two Interstate 10 hotels. Thirteen vehicles had windows broken and items stolen inside on the night of January 19. The vehicles were at the Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn.
Three burglaries on Wednesday were on Decker Street in the Greenway Park subdivision to the south of Northway Park. The other was on Zurich Drive in International subdivision to the north of Northway Park.
Enmon said loose change and items like GPS devices, a rose gold iPhone, and Oakley sunglasses.
He is asking people living in the neighborhoods with surveillance video systems to review the recordings to see if they see suspicious activity. If they find something, they can contact the Orange Police Department Detective Division at 883-1095.
Anytime a resident sees something out of the ordinary in a neighborhood, they should call police. “We’ll be happy to come out and check it,” Enmon said.
On January 12, vehicles in the Oak Creek subdivision, also near Northway Park, were burglarized. Enmon said the thieves in those break-ins may have been arrested in Beaumont.
