Monty Jarrett, 63, of Bridge City, TX, passed away on May 21, 2021, in Beaumont, TX.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 27, 2021, at Liberty Baptist Church Sanctuary in Bridge City, TX. Officiating will be Jeremy Bradshaw. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange, TX.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.
Born in Port Arthur, TX, on May 27, 1957, He was the son of James Ulys Jarrett and Mary Evelyn (Woods) Jarrett. Monty was a graduate of Nederland High School and was employed in project control at Richard Design Service. He was involved in every aspect of church and loved to point people to Jesus. He was an ordained Minister, the former pastor at Fellowship Baptist Church in West Orange, an associate pastor at the 12th St. Baptist Church, and a devoted member of Liberty Baptist Church since 1996. By spreading the message of the Lord Monty was able to make a difference and help so many within his community. Yet, his true passion was his family, he loved his grandkids very much. “Paw” always kept score at his granddaughters softball games and loved spending time with them as much as possible. Monty also loved to go on mission trips with his loving wife all over the world, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his four grandparents; and father, James Jarrett.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Reneé Jarrett; mother, Mary Jarrett of Nederland; children, Lee Ann Clayton and husband Daniel of Farmington, MO, Jason Jarrett and wife Jennifer of Buna, Jonathan Jarrett and wife Tiffany of Woodville, Daniel Jarrett and wife Ashley of Bridge City, Samuel Adams of Dallas, and Sarah Jackson of Pleasure Island; grandchildren, Jordis, Sadie, Trey, Justin, Ashleigh, Jenna, Jacee, Ethan, Kaitlyn, Cale, McKenna, Cody, Colton, Isaac, Leighton, and Emery, Jake; sisters, Vicki Kelly and husband Greg of Nederland and Cindy Lewis and husband David of Red Oak; sister-in-law, Charlotte Liles and husband Steve of Orange, Becky Cooper of Orange; 5 nieces; 3 nephews; and many great nieces and great nephews.
