The basketball playoffs came to a quick end Monday for LCM, Bridge City and Deweyville.
The Lady Pirates lost to Broaddus 36-19 in a game played at Warren HS.
The Lady Cardinals lost to Livingston 48-39 after being down 26-22 at the half.
In a game broadcast on KOGT, the Lady Bears (22-11) got down early and came back to take the lead against Tarkington at East Chambers HS, but woes from the free throw line kept LCM out of the win column. LCM shot 8-27 and lost to the Lady Horns 61-50. Chelsea Perry lead all scorers with 23 points. Senior Karly Rogers finished with 10.

LCM defeated the defending state champs from Liberty 4-3.
The Orangefield Lady Bobcats opened their season with a 12-2 win in 5 innings over the Vidor Lady Pirates. Codie Sorge got the win complete game win giving up 2 earned runs on 4 hits with 8 strikeouts. Sophomore Ryden Stanfield was 2 for 3 with a double, a stolen base and 3 runs scored. Freshman Alayna Dodd was 2 for 3 with a stolen base and 2 runs scored. Emma Humplik was 1 for 4 with a double, 2 RBI’s and 2 runs scored. Alyssa Dodd was 2 for 3 with 2 doubles, a walk and 3 RBI’s. The Bobcats travel to Lufkin for 6 games this weekend for the Hudson tournament.
BC Lady Cards defeated Buna 11-3. Madyson Melton had an outstanding performance on the mound with 11ks. The Lady Cards offense was also had a strong outing putting runs on the board every inning. Natilee Reed 4-4, Aleah McClanahan 3-4 with 3 RBIs, Leah Jeffrey 2-4, Hannah Murchison 2-4 with 3 RBIs and a triple.
