The month of November is celebrated by model railroaders as National Model Railroad Month. In accordance with this practice, Grace Lutheran Church (2300 Eddleman Road, Orange, Tx) and Tex La Model Railroad Club will have an Open House for model trains on November 28 (Friday) and 29 (Saturday) from 10 am to 5 pm. Tex La has new modules they are working on for their portable layout and are anxious to show their progress so far to the public. There will be a small “N” scale Christmas layout to view as well as the club’s “HO” scale modular layout. Also available to be seen are the “Tommy Lee Drake Jr.” Memorial “N” Scale Layout (“The Drake Lines”) and another “N” scale layout built on a wooden door. The “O” scale members have created a modular 8’ x 12’ “O” scale layout for your enjoyment. Come see the tunnel on the “O” layout. If you have ever liked trains, come see our displays and learn how we create our miniature world.
Directions:
Take I-10 East to Orange at Exit 877 (16th Street). Follow I-10 service road .8 mile to light at 16th Street, turn left under I10 and proceed to light on other side Turn left at light on north side of I-10 and go 0.1 mile to Meeks Drive and turn right. Go 0.4 mile to Eddleman Road and turn left, the church is 0.2 mile on the right.
Access: Enter at front door (under the overhang).
