Michael Harlan Knox, 69, of Orange passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.
Mike was born on April 8, 1946 in Livingston, Texas to parents Iva Agnes (Kee) and Harlan Lee Knox. He had lived in the Orange area for 55 plus years and was a member of McDonald Memorial Baptist Church. Mike had worked at Lamar University of Orange as a Head Security Guard for many years. Mike was an avid football fan of the Longhorns, West Orange Stark, Orangefield and Deweyville football teams. Mike was a loving father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend who will be missed dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Knox.
Mike is survived by his sons, Jimmy Knox and wife, Dawn of Nederland, Kelly Knox and wife, Heather of Buna; brothers, Billy Knox and wife, Kathy of Orangefield, Ricky Knox of Orange. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Hunter and Kalena Knox, Trevor Knox, Talon Knox, Marissa, Miranda, Drake, Ellisa Knox, Kendal Knox, Kale Knox, Kinley Knox; great grandchildren, Ember, Abel, Bella, Kambry, Kowen; the daughter he never had, Tonya Brown and his extended family, Pam and Richard Sims and their children and grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 2 pm at Dorman Funeral Home, with a visitation from 1 pm until service time. Officiating will be Rev. Tommy Anthony and Bobby Bramley. Cremation will follow the services.
Honoring Mike as pallbearers will be Hunter Knox, Trevor Knox, Talon Knox and Kendal Knox. Honorary pallbearers are Ray Long, Butch Campbell, Richard Sims, Cornell Thompson and Skip Moore.
