Mary McKenna of Southeast Texas Hospice in Orange has shown a lifetime of commitment to building Hospice in America from only a few hospices nationwide to the thousands that exist today to serve the needs of the terminally ill across Texas, New Mexico and across the United State Of America.
She is a founder of the Texas and New Mexico Organization, an early President of the organization, and a hospice member and advocate for the organization from its inception. Her involvement at the state level has included advocacy for creation of the hospice state license and initiation of Texas Medicaid reimbursement.
Nationally, Mary has served as the Treasurer of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization and as an early Board member of that organization. Her support of hospice included joining the advocacy battle to initiate a Medicare hospice reimbursement.
She has been serving dying people and their families across southeast Texas for a lifetime. Her resolve and commitment for the Southeast Texas Hospice has grown the organization financially and as a leader in healthcare in our community.
