Two more candidates filed to run for the Orange City Council Tuesday, but the three open positions at this time do not have a contested race.
David C. Bailey, a former Orange County sheriff’s chief deputy, filed to run for the At-Large Position 5 seat currently held by Bill Mello. Mello is eligible, under city term limits, to serve one more three-year term. He has not filed for re-election and he is currently hospitalized in Houston with medical problems.
Mary McKenna filed to run for the Single-Member District 4 spot currently held by Annette Pernell. McKenna has previously held the seat.
Single-Member District 2 Councilor Brad Childs last week filed to run again.
The filing deadline is Friday, February 15. The election will be May 4.
