Memorial Services for Ms. Mary Hunter, 40, of Orange, will be Friday, March 24, 2023, at 3pm at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of Sparrow Funeral Home. Disposition is Cremation.
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, hoy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”,
On February 28, 1983, in Texas City, Texas a beautiful baby girl was born to Sandra Mahoney and Kenneth Ray Hunter whom the named Mary Nicole Hunter. She is known to many as “Nikki”.
Nikki’s school years were in the West Orange-Cove CISD. The second semester of her senior year she moved to Kirbyville and graduated from Kirbyville High School in the Class of 2002. She continued her education at Lamar State College Orange, Texas and Angelina College in Lufkin, Texas. She continued her education and became a Phlebotomy Technician.
She was baptized at an early age and always believed and trusted in God by serving him with the talent of singing and doing whatever was needed to be done. She was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist church where she worked with the Youth Department. Nikki had a beautiful smile, and she kept the faith even through her trials and tribulations during her life. Her favorite scriptures she read often were Roman 12: 1-2 and Proverbs 3:5-6 which she knew was her mother’s favorite scripture.
She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Ray Hunter, Paternal & Maternal Grandparents and Godfather, Kerry Franks, Sr.
On Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Baptist Hospital, Beaumont, Texas, Nikki was surrounded by family when she answered her Master’s call to come and be with him in the mansion he had prepared for her.
She leaves to cherish her memories, daughter, Maddysn “Maddy” Hunter, mother, Sandra Mahoney both of Orange, TX., brothers, Talvin Mahoney of Orange, TX., Trey Hunter and Kenneth “KK” Hunter both of Texas City, TX., Kenneth Hunter (Kathy) of Scottsdale, AZ., Bobby Roy Levi, Tommy Roy Levi and Albert Harper all of Orange, TX., cousin sisters, Tiffanie Breed and Angela Knox. Also, left with memories, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, Godmothers, Natasha Franks and Rhonda Alcorn, God sisters, PreShawn Henson and Brandelyn Flunder, God brothers, Kerry Franks, Jr., Jacoby Franks and Trey Franks.
Memories of Nikki will live in the hearts of her friends, classmates and church family forever.
