Marvin Travis Green Jr. was born December 29, 1959, and passed away May 25, 2025, at the age of 65.
Travis was born in Orange, Texas, but was a longtime resident of Deweyville, Texas. He retired from International Paper after 40 years of dedicated service as a Wet End Operator on the paper machine. Travis was a busy bee. His greatest love was the outdoors-whether it was mowing his lawn shirtless, working on a DIY home renovation project, or relaxing in his backyard oasis of a pool. Just like bees, he loved traveling far and wide. He went on many trips with family and friends-from the snowy mountains of Colorado to the sandy beaches of Florida and the pebbled rivers of Tennessee. He truly experienced the beauty of our country.
He also had a deep creative passion. If you ever saw him working on a floral arrangement or decorating for Christmas, you knew you were watching a master at work. No one had an eye for beauty like he did-his creations were simply breathtaking. Travis was a loyal friend who never met a stranger. He was hardworking and would do anything for his family, whom he was incredibly proud of. His dedication and resilience in pursuing his passions and hobbies were rivaled only by the love he had for his family and friends. He was truly a unique individual-we will never find another like him.
He is survived by his children: Tristan Green and wife Marjorie, Skylar Green, Khris Omey, Jodee Omey, and Kaylee Ash and fiancé Jacob Bass; his grandson, Oliver Green; his sister, Cindy Myers, and husband Huey Myers; his brother, Corey Green, and wife Cat Green; nephews Blaze Myers, William Foster and wife Destiny Foster, and Jimmy Foster; and the mother of his children, Tammy Major.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorthy Hryhorchuk, father, Marvin Joe Green Sr.; and his sister, Wanda Lambright.
Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m., Monday, June 2, 2025, at Deweyville United Pentecostal Church, Orange, Texas. Pastor Michael Orange will be officiating. Interment to follow at Deweyville Cemetery, Deweyville, Texas.
