Beyond music, Mark cherished the land he called home. He owned 30 acres of property and took great pride in meticulously maintaining it.
Mark is survived by his loving partner of 16 years, Charlotte Rushing of Mauriceville, TX; his stepson Christopher Simmons of Austin, TX; his parents Fredrick and Mercedes Goocher of Mongomery, TX; and his sister Marla Zoch and husband Dr. Fred Zoch of Kerrville, TX, uncle and aunt Steve Sampson and wife Melody of Birmingham, AL. He also leaves behind numerous niece and nephews Franklin Zoch, Dr Forest Zoch and Kelly Read, great nieces and nephews Thomas Read, Parker Zoch, Julia Read and Blair Zoch. Dr. Fred Zoch’s sister Bonnie and brother Rev Paul Zoch.
He was preceded in death by his two stepsons, Grady Simmons and Bradley Simmons.
Mark’s legacy will live on in the memories of those who knew him, in the music he played, and in the land he so lovingly tended. He will be deeply missed.
