This week law enforcement in Orange County teamed up with the District Attorney’s Office to round-up those with warrants for Domestic Violence.
DA Investigator Jason Ashworth and Captain Frank Carpenter of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office researched locations of those with warrants. “It was a very successful operation,” said Krispen Walker with the DA’s Office. “Successful enough that we’ll do it again. Domestic violence affects not only the victim, but more often than not has a devastating effect on children and also on our community as a whole. We take those charges seriously.”
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. During October, victim advocates, allied professionals, survivors of abuse, their loved ones, and the surrounding community come together to mourn the lives lost to domestic violence, celebrate the progress that has been made to end this epidemic, and connect with others working to create change.
Recently in Orange County the Sugie Lane Foundation held a Girls Night Out Domestic Violence Awareness Gala at the Expo Center to raise money for victim’s assistance. The Sheriff’s Dept. also unveiled their custom wrapped patrol vehicle promoting awareness, the first of its kind in the state. It was used in the Round-Up.
