
The Beaumont Founders Lions Club released the finalists for the Willie Ray Smith Awards which celebrates the top offensive and defensive football player in Southeast Texas as voted on by the media.
Orangefield’s Mason Manning is an offensive finalist. Manning had 1945 all-purpose yards for the district champion Bobcats. He joins Cam Dischler and Beau Daville as Bobcat finalists. Daville won the award in 1998.
Joining Manning on the offensive side of the table are Silsbee QB Michael Moshier, HF QB Ty Bryson, and Nederland RB Hubert Thomas.
On the defensive side LCM’s Tucker Floyd is a finalist and joins former Bears Luke McDow, Da’Marion Morris and Amier Washington to receive the honor.
Joining Floyd are Woodville’s Tayvion Hunter, Matsyn Morris of Silsbee, and Tyler Kelley of Anahuac.
The two winners are scheduled to be announced at a banquet on March 23 at 3pm at the Elegante in Beaumont.
