Monday afternoon an 18 year old female was driving on MLK near Community Church when she struck the back of a garbage truck and one of the men emptying trash.
The accident severed both of the mans legs. Tourniquets were applied on both legs and the 27 year old was conscious at the scene while awaiting transport to the hospital by ambulance.
Unfortunately the man died on the way to the hospital. The female driver of the white four door vehicle was also taken to the hospital for non life threatening injuries.
The accident is under investigation.
