Wednesday night Little Cypress firefighters received a call that a man was trapped in a hole in Kinnard Estates.
When OCESD3 arrived on scene at 10:15pm they found a man and a go-kart in a large hole on Alice Street. The street has been closed to thru traffic for several weeks for drainage repair according to neighbors. The closure was marked with signage.
Chief Matt Manshack said after extrication that the driver of the go-kart appeared to have suffered a broken leg among other injuries. He was taken by Acadian to a Beaumont hospital. Air Med was not available because of the fog.
