A canopy broke the direct fall of a man who was pushed out of a second-story window at a local hotel Wednesday night. Orange Police Detective Captain Robert Enmon said the man was taken by Acadian Ambulance Service to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.
The 33-year-old man from Orange was arguing with another man about a dog, Enmon said. After being pushed out the open window, the man fell onto the canopy and then hit the ground.
Patrol officers went to the Orange Inn and Suites, 4301 27th Street (off Interstate 10), about 9 p.m. Wednesday after a call about a disturbance. They found the injured man outside with a woman. He had cuts, scrapes and bruises.
A vehicle in the hotel parking lot belonging to a third party in the argument had two tires slashed. Enmon said no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
