On Monday a man went to the hospital instead of jail after trying to elude police by jumping out of a two story balcony.
Officer McDonald with the Orange Police Department was patrolling when he noticed a man on a bicycle that had a felony warrant. When he tried to stop the individual he took off to an apartment complex off of Burton St.
Officers briefly lost the man as they began to search the apartments and later found him lying on the ground after injuring his leg in a jump from the balcony. He was taken to the hospital for treatment but will have an evading charge tacked on to the warrant when he is arrested according to OPD.
