
This week a Jefferson County Grand Jury indicted Danny Johnson, Jr. for Resisting Arrest and Assaulting a Police Officer.
On July 15 Beaumont Police respsonded to a disturbance on Laurel Ave. and when they approached Johnson, 24, of Vidor, he “furthered” the disturbance and so he was detained. A check of Johnson revealed he had outstanding warrants in Orange County. The officer then uncuffed Johnson to seearch him and Johnson continued to turn and resist. The officer continued and Johnson turned quickly with his elbow and struck the officer, knocking him to the ground.
The officer complained of knee and back pain. Johnson was transported to the Jefferson Co. Jail and charged with resisting and assault of a peace officer.
