Mario J. Peeples of Orange was indicted this week by a Jefferson County Grand Jury for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.
Back in February Beaumont Police were checking a gas station when they noticed the driver of a vehicle in the parking lot sleeping/unresponsive. When the officer opened the drivers side door for a welfare check he immediately noticed a Ruger 9mm pistol and he retrieved it.
Peeples, 33, was detained and a check of his record showed a 15 year imprisonment for attempted second degree murder in Calcasieu Parish.
