
West Orange police Friday night stopped a thief from partying. He had stolen tequila from a liquor store, along with lime juice and cigarettes from another store. He is also accused of stealing a purse from a customer in the Wal-Mart parking lot.
Orange Police Detective Captain Robert Enmon said no charges will be filed for the theft from Red’s Liquor on 16th Street because the man is making restitution.
Pinehurst Police Chief Fred Hanauer said the man returned the lime juice and cigarettes to Robert’s Meat Market on Park Avenue. Pinehurst police issued a trespassing warning not to go back to the store.
Orange Patrol Officer J.E. Roy reported a man took a $23.99 bottle of Patron from Red’s about 6:45 p.m. The store clerk copied the license plate number of the 2016 Toyota the man drove away in.
West Orange Police were called to Wal-Mart at 6:49 p.m. The female victim had items returned.
A West Orange patrol officer arrested a man about 9:30 Friday night in Orange. Officer Roy reported the Petron box was in the car but the tequila was missing.
