It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Ludy Marie Johnson, who ascended to heaven on April 22, 2025, at the age of 60.
Ludy is survived by her devoted husband of 28 years, Ricky Trahan of Orange; daughters, Amanda Foster and husband Doug, Brandy Psencik and husband Bart, and Kimberly Back and husband Destrick, all of whom reside in Orange, Texas; her cherished niece, Renee Delano; her sister, Tammie Callahan; her aunt Sally Stout; and 11 grandchildren – Phoebe and Ben Foster; Lily Psencik; Gaberial, Logan, Victoria, and Amy Back; and Aiden, Brandon, Arianna, and Mikayla Delano. Ludy also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
To know Ludy was to love her deeply. She had a vibrant presence, marked by resilience and optimism. Her gentle, steadfast love and positive spirit were truly contagious. Ludy devoted herself to her family, especially her four daughters, and cherished every moment spent with them. However, the true source of her happiness lay in the company of her grandchildren.
Ludy found joy in simple pleasures such as nature, rock ‘n roll, and fishing. A flower enthusiast, she worked as a professional florist for more than 30 years. A lover of animals, she held a special bond with her dog, Candy. Above all, her greatest happiness came from spending time with her family.
Ludy was preceded in death by her parents, Benard and Mildred Fontenot; her dear brother, Tony Fontenot; aunts and uncles Fred and Lois Fontenot, Rose and Jay Campbell, Lana and Essie Mae Fontenot, and Willis Stout. She leaves behind a legacy filled with love and warmth and will be profoundly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services honoring Ludy’s life are scheduled for Tuesday, April 29, 2025. Visitation begins at 10:00 AM then service at 11:00 AM, at Dorman Funeral Home. A graveside ceremony will take place at 1:00 PM at Smith Cemetery, in Starks, Louisiana.
Honoring Ludy as pallbearers are Doug and Ben Foster, Gaberial and Logan Back, Aiden and Brandon Delano, and Seth Trahan.
Our family would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone for their continued prayers, thoughts, and support during this very challenging time. Ludy was immensely loved and will be genuinely missed, but she will forever hold a dear place in our hearts and souls.
