The first tournament of the 2020 season for college fishermen will be a memorable one for the Lamar State College Orange duo of Jack Tindel III and Brett Fregia.
Saturday at Toledo Bend Lake the duo started in 10th place and weighed in 12-2 to finish seventh overall with a total of 42-10. The finish also qualifies them for the National Tournament.
Tindel and Fregia said they fished Carolina Rigs pretty much the entire tournament.
Carolina Rigs were a popular bait among the top 12. Other baits used by the top 12 included football jigs, crankbaits, squarebills, and the winners from Bethel University said they fished a brush hog slower than slow in deep water.
