Lamar State College Orange Announces Record-Breaking Fall 2025 Enrollment with 4,500+ Students
Orange, TX – Lamar State College Orange (LSCO) has once again shattered records, welcoming its largest student body in the institution’s history. Preliminary enrollment for Fall 2025 stands at more than 4,500 students, a dramatic increase from last fall’s final headcount of 3,613.
Since 2019, LSCO has strategically expanded its offerings, launching 33 new programs, including 16 added in 2025 alone, to meet the evolving needs of students and industry partners. This year’s growth is fueled by surging interest in fields such as Cosmetology Operator Management, Criminal Justice Law Enforcement, Medical Assisting, and Production Welding to name a few, demonstrating LSCO’s commitment to aligning education with workforce opportunities.
“At LSCO, Your Future is Our Focus,” said President Wendy Elmore. “That means meeting students exactly where they are whether that’s geographically, academically, or through the programs we offer. This historic enrollment reflects the trust our community places in us to provide accessible, affordable, and life-changing education.”
Between these milestones, LSCO continues to demonstrate how intentional growth strategies can directly impact students and the region. By expanding its catalog of programs and strengthening partnerships with schools, universities, and workforce agencies, the college is creating clear and attainable pathways for students of all ages and backgrounds to pursue higher education and meaningful careers.
“Our enrollment momentum is powered not only by new academic programs but also by transformative partnerships,” said Dr. Tracy Skopek, Provost and Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs. “From our collaboration with Texas State University to workforce pathways with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and the Texas Juvenile Justice Department, we are ensuring students have seamless opportunities to succeed. Much of our current growth also comes from expanded dual credit partnerships with school districts across Texas, opening doors for high school students to begin their college journey earlier than ever.”
As LSCO continues to set new records, the college remains committed to its mission of transforming lives and communities through education, workforce readiness, and opportunity. Enrollment for the second 8-week semester is still open with classes beginning October 27, 2025.
