Friday afternoon the Sabine River Bridge on Hwy. 12 in Deweyville was closed so that workers could begin breaking down a log jam created by the heavy rains two days ago.
The bridge was reopened at approximately 9pm Friday night
Louisiana Dept. of Transportation maintains the bridge but it was a combined effort from both states to try and clear the debris.
There’s also video coverage on the KOGT Facebook page. Also just after midnight April 13 the Sabine River Authority opened all 11 gates at one foot each at the Toledo Bend Dam after it reached 172.70ft. That changed the release from 5000cfs to 11000cfs.
