Orange police said an argument concerning a young woman led to a 23-year-old man being shot in the shoulder about 7:30 Tuesday morning at Lion’s City Park on Main Avenue. Within four hours, Orange police arrested a 19-year-old man for aggravated assault in connection with the shooting.
Police identified the victim as Patrick Roberts. He was taken by private vehicle to Southeast Texas Medical Center in Port Arthur before police arrived. His injury is not life-threatening.
Detective Captain Robert Enmon said investigators tracked the shooter and arrested Keylan Collins, who was taken to the Orange County Jail. Collins gave detectives a statement about the shooting.
Captain Enmon said the two men had been arguing about the woman and agreed to meet. One of them brought a .9 mm pistol with him and the other was shot.
