
Linda Katherine Thayer, 78 of Orange, Texas, passed away on July 25, 2025, in Orange.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange
Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Marfa, Texas, on May 16, 1947, she was the daughter of Charles Heyduck and Katherine Avitts Gipson. Linda was a devoted mother, an adoring grandmother, and a steadfast presence in the lives of her family. Her passion for caring and nurturing extended beyond her own children; the warmth of her spirit attracted many children to her, all of whom found comfort and joy in her company. Linda had a unique ability to connect with the younger generation, making her not just a mother figure but a beloved confidante to many. A gifted family historian, Linda possessed an extraordinary talent for remembering dates, ensuring that no significant moment in her family’s history would be forgotten. Linda’s affectionate personality extended to her beloved cats, who were not only her pets but also cherished family members. Her gentle demeanor and genuine care for others made her a remarkable individual who touched the lives of many. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Norman Thayer; her parents, Charles Heyduck and Katherine Gipson; and her stepfather, Howard Gipson.
She is survived by her children, Matthew Wilder Thayer and wife, Nancy, Jennifer Charlene Thayer, and Ryan Thomas Thayer and wife, Jacquetta; her grandchildren, Shaela Zerko and husband, Adam, Dylan Thayer, Kaitlin Thayer, Madison Thayer, Logan Owens, and Gabrielle Owens; her siblings, Geri Hull and husband, Tommy, Janet Limerick, Henry Heyduck and wife, Pauline, and John Heyduck and wife, Donna; and numerous other loving family members and friends.
